XL228
XL228 targets IGF1R,and SRC, which play important roles in cell proliferation and survival in some tumors. Colon, breast, prostate, ovarian, lung and hepatocellular cancers, as well as multiple myeloma, may be sensitive to inhibition of IGF1R and SRC. XL228 also targets BCR-ABL, including the T315I mutant form of BCR-ABL, which is resistant to approved BCR-ABL inhibitors.
Exelixis is evaluating XL228 in phase 1 trials in patients with chronic myelogenous leukemia or advanced malignancies.
